Risks for any anesthesia include:

• Reactions to medications
• Problems breathing

Risks for any surgery include:

• Bleeding
• Infection

Additional risks include:

• Bone growth restriction (epiphysiodesis), which may cause short height
• Bone infection (osteomyelitis)
• Injury to blood vessels
• Poor bone healing
• Nerve damage
