Transthoracic needle aspiration; Percutaneous needle aspiration

In a normal test, the tissues are normal and there is no growth of bacteria, viruses, or fungi if a culture is performed.

• Bacterial, viral, or fungal lung infection
• Cancerous cells (lung cancer, mesothelioma)
• Pneumonia
