Here are suggestions to help keep your baby safe, courtesy of the National Safety Council:
- Bumper pads should cover the entire perimeter of the crib, and all snaps or ties should be securely fastened with no excess overhang.
- Replace, fix or remove teething rails immediately.
- Once the baby is old enough to pull herself up, all mobiles and crib gyms should be removed.
- Keep plastic sheets, pillows and large stuffed animals out of and away from cribs.
- Replace or remove any torn crib parts, cloth or vinyl immediately.
