(HealthDay News) -- Heels can take a beating from a range of activities, including heavy impact exercise or wearing poorly fitted shoes.
The American Podiatric Medical Association offers these suggestions to keep heel pain in check:
- Take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication to help manage pain.
- Use splints at night.
- Wear custom orthotic insoles, or
similar over-the-counter products.
- Use gel supports designed to cup the heel.
