(HealthDay News) -- You mop the floors, vacuum the carpet and dust the shelves to keep your home clean.

But the indoor air could still harbor mildew, mold, bacteria, pet dander and other contaminants that could compromise your health.

The National Women's Health Information Center offers this list of symptoms that could be triggered by indoor air pollution:

  • Throat, eye and nose irritation.
  • Frequent fatigue.
  • Persistent headaches.
  • Feeling dizzy.
  • Wheezing and asthmatic symptoms.
