General Information about WELLBUTRIN SR.

Medicines are sometimes prescribed for conditions that are not mentioned in patient information leaflets. Do not use WELLBUTRIN SR for a condition for which it was not prescribed. Do not give WELLBUTRIN SR to other people, even if they have the same symptoms you have. It may harm them. Keep WELLBUTRIN SR out of the reach of children.

Store WELLBUTRIN SR at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Keep WELLBUTRIN SR in a tightly closed container. WELLBUTRIN SR tablets may have a characteristic odor. If present, this odor is normal.

What are possible side effects of WELLBUTRIN SR? Seizures. Some patients get seizures while taking WELLBUTRIN SR. If you have a seizure while taking WELLBUTRIN SR, stop taking the tablets and call your doctor right away. Do not take WELLBUTRIN SR again if you have a seizure.

Hypertension (high blood pressure). Some patients get high blood pressure, sometimes severe, while taking WELLBUTRIN SR. The chance of high blood pressure may be increased if you also use nicotine replacement therapy (for example, a nicotine patch) to help you stop smoking.

Call your doctor right away if you get a rash, itching, hives, fever, swollen lymph glands, painful sores in the mouth or around the eyes, swelling of the lips or tongue, or have trouble breathing. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction. The most common side effects of WELLBUTRIN SR are loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, rapid heart beat, sore throat, and urinating more often.

If you have nausea, you may want to take your medicine with food. If you have difficulty sleeping, avoid taking your medicine too close to bedtime.

These are not all the side effects of WELLBUTRIN SR. For a complete list, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Tell your doctor right away about any side effects that bother you. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN SR without talking with your doctor first.
