Overdosage & Contraindications
Who should NOT take CONCERTA ® ?

You should NOT take CONCERTA ® if:

° You have significant anxiety, tension, or agitation since CONCERTA ® may make these conditions worse.

° You are allergic to methylphenidate or any of the other ingredients in CONCERTA ® .

° You have glaucoma, an eye disease.

° You have tics or Tourette's syndrome, or a family history of Tourette's syndrome.

Talk to your doctor if you believe any of these conditions apply to you.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

The Maker of CONCERTA ® believes in the importance of proper diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. Only a doctor can decide whether medication is right for you or your child.

CONCERTA ® is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

CONCERTA ® should not be taken by patients with:

significant anxiety,
tension,
agitation;
allergies to methylphenidate or other ingredients in CONCERTA ® ; glaucoma;
Tourette's syndrome,
tics,
family history of Tourette's syndrome;
current/ recent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI).

CONCERTA ® should not be taken by children under 6 years of age. Abuse of methylphenidate may lead to dependence. Tell your healthcare professional if your child has had problems with alcohol or drugs. In the clinical studies with patients using CONCERTA ® , the most common side effects were headache, stomach pain, sleeplessness and decreased appetite.
