(Ivanhoe Newswire) -- Arguments between parents can put stress on kids at school, according to a new study.
Researchers found children who worry about conflicts between their parents are more likely to have difficulty paying attention in class.

Young children, parents and teachers were evaluated for three years to determine how childrens negative thoughts and worries about how their parents were getting along affected their actions at school. Researchers looked at how the kids followed teachers instructions and how they interacted with classmates.
The children who worried about their parents getting along had more attention problems in class and had problems adjusting to school, the study found.
The studys authors suggested that children used the negative thoughts at school to help them cope with stress in high-conflict homes.
